However, she notes that her favorite pose often changes from day to day—just ask her tomorrow!

Believing that breath is key to mindfulness, Tatum occasionally discusses the yamas and niyamas in her classes. Her biggest takeaway for students is that practicing asana on the mat can influence their thoughts and actions off the mat. She emphasizes that yoga is about much more than physical practice; it’s a holistic journey that affects one’s self-perception and interactions with others.

Outside of yoga, Tatum enjoys making delicious sourdough pancakes and is also an accomplished painter and metalsmith. She holds a BFA in Studio Art and enjoys creating landscape paintings and sterling silver jewelry. You can explore her art at tatumlee.com.

Cortney reads the room with care, tailoring each session to meet students where they are. Her goal is to foster presence, self-awareness, and authentic movement—always grounded in compassion and ease.

Cortney’s favorite pose is Child’s Pose (Balasana), which she sees as a powerful reminder that surrender and deep listening often lead to the deepest form of freedom.

Mindfulness is at the core of her teaching. Through gentle, consistent invitations to return to the breath, check in with the body, and let go of expectations, Cortney creates an experience that nurtures both body and soul. She often weaves yoga philosophy into her guidance, offering a deeper sense of connection with each class.

A lover of life and its many adventures, Cortney believes in celebrating each moment with joy, presence, and a little bit of laughter. And beyond the mat, her passion for storytelling shines through her work empowering authors as the founder of GroovyRoads Publishing House.

Her message to students? “Listen to and respect what your body needs. Yoga is a personal journey—on and off the mat—and only you get to decide what feels best in each miraculous moment.”

EMILY

Emily is a dedicated yoga instructor who began teaching at the end of 2024, specializing in dynamic, flow-style classes that blend strength, mindfulness, and intention. A 200-hour RYT, she combines her love of movement with thoughtful sequencing to help students build both a strong foundation and a deep connection to their practice.

In her classes, students can expect to break down key poses before moving into a flowing sequence that incorporates strength-based elements. Emily enjoys integrating powerful movement with mindful awareness—offering an experience that is both energizing and grounding.

Her favorite pose is Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II), which helps her feel strong, stable, and empowered—qualities she hopes to inspire in her students as well.

Emily weaves yoga philosophy into her teaching by focusing on one of the eight limbs of yoga in each class. She begins every session by inviting students to connect with their breath and set a personal intention, creating space for presence, purpose, and reflection.

With a background in alpine ski racing and mountain bike racing, Emily brings an adventurous spirit and athletic awareness to her teaching. Off the mat, you can find her climbing, skiing, hiking, or biking—always moving with curiosity and love for the outdoors.

Her reminder to students? “It’s easy to compare yourself to others, but focusing on your own practice—your own journey—is where the real growth happens.”

Her approach incorporates yoga philosophy, encouraging reflections on non-attachment, compassion, and balance—both on and off the mat. She believes that yoga is not just about physical flexibility but also about cultivating mental and emotional resilience.

Her favorite pose is Savasana, as it embodies the essence of deep relaxation and surrender. She sees it as a powerful reminder of the importance of stillness and mindfulness, allowing space for integration and renewal.

Having lived in seven countries, Isabela brings a global perspective to her teaching. She encourages new students to approach their practice with patience and self-compassion, focusing on the journey rather than perfection. KELLY

Yoga Teacher

Kelly has been teaching yoga for the past year, specializing in Slow Flow Vinyasa and Flow to Yin. With a 200-hour yoga teacher certification and Reiki attunement at levels 1 and 2, she brings a mindful, energetic approach to her classes. Her practice is rooted in the belief that yoga is an opportunity for both an energetic reset and deep listening—helping students connect with their breath, body, and mind.

In Kelly’s classes, students can expect a thoughtful and intentional experience, designed to create space for awareness and self-discovery. Drawing from her studies of the Yoga Sutras and yoga philosophy, she often weaves meaningful reflections into her teaching, inspired by life events, art, and the physical practice itself.

Her favorite pose is Ustrasana, or Camel Pose, because it allows her to open her heart to the world. She sees it as a posture of vulnerability, strength, and expression—mirroring the way she approaches her own practice and teaching.

With a background in filmmaking, Kelly appreciates the power of storytelling, both visually and energetically. She encourages her students to show up to the mat, even when they don’t feel like it. “Yoga can shift your mood,” she says, “so don’t let your mood keep you from doing it.” Whether practicing for five minutes or a full class, she believes in the transformative impact of simply showing up.
In her classes, Ramya emphasizes breath and body awareness, creating a holistic practice that encompasses asana, pranayama, and meditation/mindfulness (dharana) practices. She particularly enjoys guiding students through supported backbends, which help to open the front of the body, often constricted from long hours of sitting. These poses also provide a gentle inversion, refreshing both the mind and body.

Ramya begins each class by setting an intention, encouraging students to let their breath guide their movement as they turn inward. After the asana practice, she leads students through pranayama, pratyahara, and dharana techniques, fostering a deeper connection to themselves.

Before transitioning to yoga full-time, Ramya worked as a software engineer for eight years, with her last position at Amazon. She believes that the path of yoga has healed and transformed her from the inside out and sees it as her honor and purpose to share this joy with as many people as possible.

Her advice for students is to trust the process and keep an open mind, exploring different classes and styles until they find what resonates with them. She emphasizes that yoga is not about perfecting poses but about the journey itself and encourages students to cross-train, reminding them that movement is medicine.

Growing up practicing yoga alongside her mother, Ramya views yoga as a way of life and is passionate about sharing its transformative power with others.

Additionally, she is certified in Gravity Yoga, offering deep flexibility training to her students.

Steph’s teaching style is a playful movement practice that invites sweet awareness and acceptance of breath, body, and inner experience. She encourages students to meet their edge with courage and fierce compassion, weaving yoga philosophy, pranayama, and asana into a practice that strengthens both body and mind. Each class begins with stillness, offering space for self-reflection and breath awareness before moving into intentional movement. She often integrates physical and energetic themes, such as front-body opening in Ustrasana (Camel Pose) while exploring the concept of Satya (truthfulness).

Her favorite pose is Ardha Chandrasana, or Half Moon, as it represents the perfect balance of effort and ease, strength and flexibility. She loves how it challenges balance—both physically and mentally—while remaining adaptable to all bodies and abilities.

Outside of yoga, Steph has been exploring the connection between climbing and yoga since 2021 and spent 2.5 years as a route setter. She also has a passion for professional wrestling, embracing the artistry and discipline it requires.

Her advice to students? Keep coming back. Return to the mat, return to the breath, return to the present moment—again and again. “Yoga, like life, is a practice, not a linear journey. You are your own best teacher; instructors are simply guides to help you deepen your self-exploration. No effort is ever wasted, and this practice is truly for every body.”

Steph is also open to offering workshops on specific postures or aspects of the practice for those looking to deepen their understanding.

ALEXANDRA

Yoga Teacher

Alexandra never imagined she’d become a fitness person—let alone a full-time instructor. Her journey began while studying dance at the University of Idaho, where she trained in ballet, modern, floorwork, partnering, and improvisation. Her academic focus included biomechanics, anatomy, pedagogy, movement composition, and Labanalysis.

To better support and protect her body, she started lifting—and quickly fell down the fitness rabbit hole. While she’s taught in traditional dance studios, Alexandra found her passion lies in working with people who are curious about movement beyond dance technique.

Over the past 15 years, she’s taught everything from Vinyasa yoga and barre to bungee fitness, dance aerobics, and aerial sling. Through it all, she’s seen the power of people coming together to move and breathe—whether it’s in a yoga class or a step aerobics pop-up. She believes movement is our birthright, and with so many ways to move, there’s truly something for everyone.

When she’s not teaching, Alexandra performs professionally with dance companies in Seattle. She also enjoys running (mostly from her problems) and bird watching with her husband.
